Subject: Q & A How to use Super Clean?

Diana’s Note:  Sharon Farnsworth is our upline who has been in Sunrider since 1982 – she started with Dr. Chen right at the beginning.  We are so fortunate to have her advice!  Her husband died a few years ago, and Sharon re-married.  Her husband’s name is Shirl (you’ll see Sharon refers to him in this newsletter).

Dear Sunriders:

I have had a few questions about Sunrider SuperClean

1. How do we use Super Clean in the dish washer and how much?

I am very conservative and try to recycle a lot of things.  First I take an old used Liquid Soap Container that is empty that I have used with the free pump Sunrider gives when you purchase this product.  It holds 8 oz of liquid.  I put 1 oz of Super Clean Household and fill it with 7 oz of water or just fill it to the top with water.  I figure this bottle of diluted Super Clean costs about 50 or 60 cents.

For the Dishwasher: I use 3 or 4 pumps on each two containers to hold the detergent or soap.  All of my dishwashers in the 4 houses we have, have a closing top on the one that automatically opens in the second wash cycle.  If I have a water softener in the house, we can use 2 or 3 pumps.  Without soft water it may take 4 pumps.  It is a fraction of the cost of cascade or the solid pack, and does a better job in my opinion.  And like I said, I don't have to worry about eating the residue from the detergent that is sometimes left on the dishes.

Note from Diana:  I have not been successful using SuperClean in my dishwasher.

Caution: Do not use more than 1/4 tsp. straight of the Household Super Clean in your dishwasher, or you will be cleaning up suds off your floor.  Our Super Clean is so concentrated, you can dilute it yourself, instead of purchasing water and paying for the shipping of water.

I do use Jet dry, especially if we do not have a water softener in the home.  Here in Genola, Utah, we have our own well, and the water is extremely hard.  The water softener had worn out, so I talked Shirl into purchasing a new component for our system, and I have to say that I can use less now of both Super Clean for household cleaning as well as for the laundry.

Questions: How can I tell when I use the laundry SuperClean what is enough, or how much should I use?

Again, I have three or four houses that we do laundry in.  I think you need to experiment a bit because of the hardness of water in your area and if you have a water softener.  Each washing machine works differently.  But one thing I know for sure is that the washing machine lasts longer using Super Clean, as the powder detergent wears out the gears on all washing machines.  Also you need to judge the size of the load.  In Pepperwood, our loads are always huge it seems.

The lid that comes with the Super Clean has vertical ribs.  Where they end at the top of the lid, is the recommended amount SR suggest per washer load.  If my load is small and I have the water softener, I use 1/4 of the amount recommended.  With no water softener, I would use 1/3.  I think the whole measure is 1/4 cup, so you would be using very little.  For a large load with a softener, I would use 1/2 of the measurement in the lid of the bottle.  Without the softener, I would use 2/3 of the amount.  Rarely would I use the whole amount unless the load was very big and very dirty.  (On John's dirty greasy farm clothes, I would use the recommended amount.)

I also make a pre-spot of Super Clean for those hard to remove stains we get, like ring around the collar.

I take the Super Clean Spray bottle.  I put 1 lid full of recommended amount for a washer load recommended by the company.  And fill the spray bottle up with water.  Then I use it when needed and rub or use a brush on very stubborn spots.  ON grease spots, I run hot water over it and rub it.

On grease spots, make sure they are out before you put them in the dryer and dry them in with heat. You may have to do them twice, or even use a tiny bit of straight super clean and rub and soak.

How can you tell when you use enough?  By how your clothes come out.  If you have a spot, like I just stated, you may need to work it a bit first, but I did with other detergent before Super Clean.  Just start using Super Clean and you will find the way you like to use it, for your water hardness and your machine.

Some other advantages I like about the Laundry Super Clean, is that I don't have to use the softening sheets in the dryer.  I have noticed, even denim comes out much softer with Super Clean than using the sheets.  I also really like the way my clothes smell when they are done.  The super Clean has some Fruit and Vegetable rinse in it already, but for some situations, I add a bit to dish clothes or sponges from the kitchen, or something that may be moldy.  I usually soak these items first in F & V. Rinse and then throw them in the washing machine.

Question: I love the Bleach to clean off the hard water stains from my faucets.  How much do I actually put in the laundry?

You need to read the instructions on the bucket.  I like to add the Sunsmile Bleach to my white clothes.  Again, if it is a small batch of whites, I use 1 little scooper that comes with the bucket.  If the load is medium size or large, I use two or three.  If there is a stubborn stain, I will use it straight with the Super Clean pre-Spot mixture I described earlier.  But you must be careful on colored clothes, putting it on straight.  Remember it is a bleach, but not from Clorox or chlorine.

I really like the bleach on white clothes.  It keeps our undies white.

Another question: "I'm wondering about using the Super Clean in the dishwasher.  How do you get it to stay in the cup until the second wash?"

In all of the dishwashers I have, there are two compartments.  I put 3 squirts in both compartments, and close the one that opens automatically for the second wash.  I am not familiar with a dishwasher that only has one side or compartment.  If it only has one compartment, my guess is that it is an old one, and only does one wash cycle.  Maybe what you have is a new one that is designed only for the solid brick of soap.  In any case, most commercial dishwashing soap, you use too much anyway, and it leaves a residue on the dishes.

    I hope this helps.

I have switched to Sunsmile Super Clean and hope you do too.

I have recently cleaned all the carpets in Shirl's two homes and motor home with only Super Clean in the carpet cleaner.  It does a great job.  I find using less Super Clean is better on carpet.  so I use two or 3 pumps from the same bottle I use for the dish washer, in the soap side of the carpet cleaner.  Sometimes, I will make the pre spot solution and put in a squirt bottle and pre spot bad spots on the carpet, and let it soak a bit.  I don't think Shirl's carpets have ever been cleaned since they were new about 8 or 9 years ago.  The super clean has made them look brand new again.  But he did have good expensive commercial quality carpet put down.  Being on a farm it was plenty dirty, but looks new now.  Everything I use Super Clean on, it meets my expectations or is better.  And I am not sneezing and having allergic reactions to it, like other cleaners.

Thank you Drs. Chens for Super Clean.

If you are not now using it, I hope you will order some and give it a try. I have switched totally, and have eliminated so many other cleaners that I used before Super Clean.  It is very economical, plus it builds your SV points, so you are paid to use it.

It is so much safer.  It is environmentally friendly.  It is P H balanced.  It is so much better than any other cleaner that I have ever used.  I can wash dishes, have my hands in it and they don't break out.  It is a pleasure to use.  Try it, you may really like it like I do.

    I hope this helps.

    Enthusiastically,

    Sharon Farnsworth Ekins

Dear Sharon,

Thanks for the hints on Super Clean. I too love the stuff!

I have a story to share.

One of my downline started using it and she is in love with it.

She washed all of her old linens, you know sometime they get to be a bit smelly. She could not believe how bright they were and how clean they smelled and the residue from old detergent was gone.

Then one day she called and said, " do I have a story to tell you"! She had spilled red nail polish on her bath carpet. Tried to get it out with something she had and it made it worse. Called the carpet cleaners and they could not get it out!! So she thought , well I think I will try the Super Clean, as I probably will have to have the carpet replaced anyway. She sprayed it on full strength and let it set about 10-15 min., WOW, it all came out and her husband could not believe it.

Works  well on red wine also!!

Just thought I would add to the list of uses.

Regards,

Myrtle Gifford
